    Class Teacher

    Post Vacancy: Class Teacher

Location: Henderson Green Primary Academy, Norwich

Salary: Main Pay Range / Upper Pay Range (Depending on Experience)

    Job Type: Permanent Full Time

Start Date: 1 September 2024 (Earlier Start Possible)

We are excited to announce that we are looking for another teacher to join our team at Henderson Green. We are open to applications from teachers across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, as there is some flexibility in staffing arrangements due to the September start. We could accommodate an earlier start, too.

We have a huge number of external partners, bringing the best of curriculum offers and CPD for our staff and pupils. Our main curriculum is the CUSP curriculum (Unity Schools Partnership), and our phonics programme is Read Write Inc. We love CUSP, which describes itself as “unapologetically ambitious”.  It’s our job as educators to be ambitious for the young minds we teach – we believe that any child can achieve, regardless of their starting point. It just comes down to how good a job we do as teachers.

We currently use Power Maths, although our teachers also have access to White Rose maths resources. We also have a wide range of licences for pupils – Rapid Reader, Nessy, Times Table Rockstars, IDL, to name a few. We believe in investing in resources for our staff, so that your time can go on using your own formative assessment to adapt your planning rather than reinventing the wheel by creating slide decks! But we don’t want to be prescriptive: we’d rather attract experienced professionals who appreciate these resources as an efficiency aid rather than who need to rely on them as a scaffold for consistent teaching. It isn’t our objective to fetter creativity, rather to make available everything you need to do your best teaching.

Whatever your teaching style, we can accommodate it. For example, if you like shared planning, don’t fear that our one-form entry school is a barrier to this: we work so closely with our sister school just down the road (Valley Primary Academy), and can easily co-ordinate your PPA time with your year-group counterpart there. In terms of career development, there are many cross-Trust opportunities, and we have been investing heavily in CPD for our staff in the last year. We believe in “growing our own”, and as part of a four-school trust, we are able to offer career development opportunities. Even our ECT has a leadership responsibility (by choice, of course!)

We are looking for high calibre teachers, who excel in the teacher’s standards. A school like ours, with high SEND and high disadvantage, needs excellent teachers who are truly dedicated to the profession. We want to attract the best, because our children deserve the best. In return, we will support you to achieve your own goals.

Unfortunately, due to current capacity, we can’t accommodate an ECT at this time. We are careful to only take on one ECT at a time so that we can ensure we have sufficient senior staff to invest in the development of their less experienced colleagues. However, we always have Teaching Assistant vacancies available for those ready to commence their ECT year, with scope to transition into an ECT role in the Trust when it becomes available – contact our HR team for details.

If you are motivated and excited to join our amazing team and make a lasting difference to young peoples’ lives, we would be delighted to meet you.
